The Senegalese Battalion of ECOMIG Impresses in a Medal Parade

Senegalese troops in the ECOWAS mission in The Gambia were honored with a medal parade in Kanilai for their role in promoting regional peace and stability.

The Gambia’s Defense Minister, Hon. Sering Modou Njie, highlighted the strong relationship between The Gambia and Senegal, particularly in the development of the Gambian Armed Forces.

Colonel Gibbril Pathe Tine, the Commanding Officer of the Senegalese Battalion, mentioned that the contingent includes 743 personnel and focuses on community engagement through initiatives such as healthcare and sports, emphasizing the importance of cooperation for peace and stability.

The ceremony celebrated the positive impact of the Senegalese military presence in The Gambia.
