Police Meet with Gambia Transport Union Delegation

The Gambia Police and Transport Union met in the Upper River Region to strengthen ties, tackle transport issues like fines and fuel prices, and promote collaboration for safer roads.

On September 26, 2025, the Police Regional Command in the Upper River Region, led by Deputy Commissioner Yerro Mballow, met with a delegation from The Gambia Transport Union, headed by President Omar Ceesay.

The meeting aimed to improve cooperation and address transport sector issues, including mandatory fines, rising fuel prices, and the increasing number of foreign vehicles. Mr. Ceesay also apologized for a previous comment about the Police.

CP Mballow thanked the delegation for their visit, supported the Union’s objectives, and emphasized the importance of ongoing collaboration.
