The Republic of The Gambia is taking part in the third Intergovernmental Expert Group Meeting on the OIC Programme of Action (POA) from 2026 to 2035, which is taking place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from November 17 to 20, 2025.

The Gambian delegation, headed by Ms. Fatou Kinneh Jobe, Permanent Secretary II of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, praised the OIC for formulating a thorough plan that highlights peace, justice, prosperity, and solidarity.

Major topics discussed include Palestine, human rights, socio-economic development, and climate resilience. The Gambia recommended transparent execution, assistance to LDCs, and better coordination among OIC institutions, as the draft POA seeks to steer the OIC’s development agenda for the next decade.
