President Barrow Awarded Top Honor of Guinea-Bissau

President Adama Barrow of The Gambia received the Amílcar Cabral Medal in Guinea-Bissau on September 8, 2025, for fostering strong bilateral ties, dedicating the honor to Gambians and receiving the key to Bissau.

President Adama Barrow of The Gambia received the Amílcar Cabral Medal during his visit to Guinea-Bissau, honoring his efforts to strengthen bilateral relations.

President Umaro Sissoco Embaló emphasized their historical ties. Barrow dedicated the medal to the Gambian people, promoting unity and friendship, and was also presented with the key to the city by the Mayor of Bissau.

He placed a floral tribute at the tombs of Amílcar Cabral and General João Bernardo Vieira.
