Malagen Supports Vocational Institutions in Media and Information Literacy

The Open Media Centre (Malagen Investigative), in partnership with UNESCO and the Peace Building Fund, held a two-day workshop on Media and Information Literacy (MIL CLICKS) at the Kanifing Municipality Library.

The event was designed for 40 participants from various tertiary institutions and focused on topics such as hate speech, misinformation, and data privacy.

Notable speakers included Matty Jobe, who emphasized the significance of digital literacy, and Demba Kandeh, who spoke about recognizing propaganda. Legal expert Amie Touray provided insights on data protection laws in The Gambia. Participant Momodou B. Jallow emphasized the importance of the training to his medical education.
