Heavy flooding in Mokwa, Nigeria, has caused at least 115 deaths, and more bodies are expected to be found as rescue efforts continue.

The flooding occurred due to heavy rains and the collapse of a nearby dam. It has destroyed many homes and infrastructure.

Reports indicate that many residents are still missing, and warning systems for people living along riverbanks have not been effective in preventing this disaster.

The rainy season in Nigeria typically lasts for six months, and scientists have observed more extreme weather patterns due to climate change.

Last year’s floods resulted in over 1,200 deaths and displaced 1.2 million people across the country.
