Gambia and France’s Foreign Ministers Reaffirmed their Commitment to Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation

Gambia’s Foreign Minister Sering Modou Njie and France’s Jean-Noël Barrot strengthen bilateral ties, emphasizing democracy, peace, climate action, and marine conservation, supported by France’s aid in water, agriculture, and biodiversity since 2018.

Gambia’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Sering Modou Njie, and France’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot, reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral ties during Njie’s visit to Paris.

They acknowledged the improved relations since Gambia’s return to democracy in 2017 and discussed key international issues, including peace, democracy, climate action, and marine conservation.

The Gambia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has noted France’s ongoing support in areas such as water management, agriculture, biodiversity protection, and resource mobilization since 2018.
