Farmers in Benin are utilizing black soldier fly larvae to produce organic fertilizer, thereby contributing to the combat of deforestation and climate change.

Agronomist Noël Obognon has developed a method that significantly shortens soil decomposition time, thereby enhancing compost production. His company serves over 2,500 clients in West Africa and has received support from the UN’s IFAD.

The project addresses land degradation and food security issues and will be highlighted at the Africa Food Systems Forum Summit in Dakar.
