MoHERST Officially Transfers the USET Brikama Campus to the USET Vice Chancellor

The University of Applied Science, Engineering, and Technology (USET) opened its modern, World Bank-funded campus in Brikama, The Gambia, on August 29, 2025, to advance higher education and drive socioeconomic growth.

On August 29, 2025, Mr. Samba Sowe, the Director of Science, Technology, and Innovation, inaugurated a new campus for the University of Applied Science, Engineering, and Technology (USET) in Brikama, funded by the World Bank.

The campus boasts modern facilities designed to enhance higher education and foster social and economic development in The Gambia.

Vice Chancellor Professor Nazmat Toyin Surajudeen-Bakinde acknowledged the support from the government, while Consultant Mr. Baboucarr Semega-Janneh highlighted the campus’s unique design. Contractor Mr. Cherno Kurubally emphasized the importance of maintenance for the campus’s ongoing success.
