Young African entrepreneurs in China, like Khalifa A. Sy Diop, are building stronger economic ties between China and Africa.

Diop started the Mali Business Center to help businesses in both regions. He focuses on the importance of working together for national growth.

China has been Africa’s biggest trading partner for 15 years, with exports to China reaching $170 billion in 2023. Supportive regulations, such as start-up visas, have made it easier for Africans to start businesses in China.

Beninese entrepreneur Odjo Rachald discussed how these visas have helped his business, which imports and exports goods between the two regions.

Additionally, Aboubacar Garba Konte mentioned contracts in solar energy and agricultural drones to help solve Africa’s electricity shortage and encourage cooperation.

The recent China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo highlighted this partnership, where China announced it would remove tariffs on African imports and invest $50 billion in Africa over the next three years.
