The 2025 Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank (AfDB) took place in Abidjan from May 26 to 30, with a focus on Africa’s economic development.

The Gambian delegation, led by Finance Minister Seedy Keita, included officials from the Ministry of Finance, Central Bank, and Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA), represented by Commissioner General Yankuba Darboe.

A significant highlight was Darboe’s discussion on utilizing technology for domestic resource mobilization in Africa, emphasizing The Gambia’s progress with digital tools such as ASYCUDA World.

He underscored the importance of increasing local funding as dependence on foreign aid declines. The meetings concluded with the election of Mr. Sidi Ould Tah as the new President of the AfDB, succeeding Akinwumi Adesina.

The GRA’s involvement demonstrated its commitment to fiscal modernization and economic growth.
