The Gambia Event-Based Surveillance (EBS) Guideline Initiative

The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with Africa CDC, has unveiled the Gambia Event-Based Surveillance (EBS) Guideline following a comprehensive five-day workshop.

EBS enhances traditional surveillance methods by enabling the swift detection and reporting of health events from diverse sources. This guideline represents a significant advancement in strengthening The Gambia’s early warning and response system, in accordance with the International Health Regulations and the One Health approach.

The initiative aims to bolster the country’s public health framework in partnership with organizations such as the WHO and UNICEF.
