The First Lady, Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow, awarded scholarships to the ten best-performing female students from the WASSCE in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science, and Technology.
The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to closing the gender gap in education and emphasizes the importance of supporting female education.
Bah-Barrow highlighted the transformative power of education for women and stated that the scholarships acknowledge girls’ potential, aiming to make higher education in The Gambia more inclusive and encourage women’s participation in various fields for national development.
