The “Jeggain Jambarr” Women’s Association of New Jeshwang hosted a warm and vibrant welcome event on July 8, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. for members of the National Democratic Party (NDP).
Several prominent figures, including key members of the NDP Party, attended the gathering.
In her welcome remarks, the association’s spokesperson expressed deep appreciation to the NDP representatives for honoring their invitation. She reaffirmed the association’s loyalty and support for the party, outlining key challenges currently facing “Jeggain Jambarr”. These include a lack of cooking equipment, insufficient chairs for ceremonial events, the need for a tent, and additional support for their members’ welfare and businesses.
Addressing the gathering, a key lady member of the NDP thanked the association for the warm reception and promised stronger cooperation between the women’s group and the NDP.
She emphasized that the visit was not politically driven but rather a gesture of solidarity. However, she noted that the party would reconnect with the group during the official campaign season to share the NDP’s vision and development plans for The Gambia further.
One key party member, a key organizer of the event, also expressed gratitude to the women’s association and pledged the party’s ongoing support. On behalf of the NDP, he presented a cash donation of D10,000 to help purchase cooking equipment. He assured the women that the party’s executive will investigate addressing their other identified needs.
Closing the event, on behalf of the NDP Chairman, Mr. Kebbeh Madi Bojang, the speaker thanked the “Jeggain Jambarr” Association for their hospitality and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to partnership and community development.
The event concluded with applause and appreciation, signaling the beginning of what both parties hope will be a fruitful and empowering collaboration.
