Hon. Seedy Keita, the Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, encouraged Gambians to embrace the digital changes by the Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA), which collected D13 billion from January to June 2025.
He praised Commissioner General Yankuba Darboe and his team for initiating digital reforms that have enhanced revenue collection.
The e-invoicing project was officially launched on July 8, 2025, and will be implemented by Worldwide AVATAR Technologies.
Hon. Keita highlighted that the digital tools introduced by GRA have improved compliance and national revenue collection, making 2025 a promising year.
Commissioner General Darboe emphasized the importance of the e-invoicing system in modernizing tax management, enhancing transparency, and reducing tax evasion and fraud.
The new system aims to simplify tax return preparation for businesses and will rely on the cooperation of taxpayers for its successful implementation.
GRA will provide training and support to ensure stakeholders are informed and prepared during this transition.
