The Gambia Police Force (GPF) has stated that no permit has been issued for the “Bakoteh Dumpsite Lockdown” protest scheduled for November 3, 2025, organized by Saffiatou Joof.

The organizers called the Police Headquarters to finalize the necessary procedures, but they failed to do so. The GPF warns the public against joining any unlawful gatherings at the dumpsite.

It stresses the importance of dialogue and cooperation in addressing the raised issues, while respecting citizens’ rights to peaceful assembly and expression.
