Government Initiatives to Increase Access to Higher Education for Gambian Youths.

During the NYSS stakeholders’ engagement at NASGRAP, Dr. Ismaila Ceesay, the Gambian Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services, highlighted the government’s initiatives to make tertiary education more accessible and affordable.

He acknowledged a rise in the number of young individuals enrolling in universities and vocational training centers, alongside plans to establish new public universities and expand existing institutions.

Dr. Ceesay emphasized the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders, including universities, colleges, donors, the government, and the private sector, to enhance graduate programs and empower graduates across various fields.
