On October 19, 2025, murder suspect Borry Sonko, accused of killing his pregnant wife, was handed over by the Gambia Police Force to the Senegalese National Police after escaping to the Gambia.
The GPF and the victim’s family collaborated to capture him. During the transfer, Senegalese police returned a vehicle linked to the case.
This event highlights the increasing partnership between The Gambia and Senegal in tackling transnational organized crime, including successful exchanges of suspects. The Gambia Police Force remains committed to cross-border cooperation and justice for victims.
