Gambia participates in Africa’s Pre-CSW70 and the 10th AU STC on Gender Equality.

Fatou Kinteh, the Minister of Gender, Children, and Social Welfare of The Gambia, participated in the Africa Pre-CSW70 Consultations and the 10th African Union Specialized Technical Committee on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment in Addis Ababa.

The discussions focused on “Promoting and Strengthening Access to Justice for All Women and Girls,” aiming to eliminate discriminatory laws and improve gender-responsive justice systems. The meeting sought to adopt the Experts’ Report on Women’s Access to Justice in Africa and the Common Africa Position for CSW70.

Siaka Marong, Principal Gender and Women’s Empowerment Officer, represented The Gambia and contributed to discussions on women’s rights litigation and legal protections.
