MoFEA & AFD Sign Phase II DRM Project Financing Agreement

The Gambia and AFD signed a Phase II agreement for the Domestic Resource Mobilization Project to modernize tax systems and enhance sustainable revenue generation.

On May 16, 2025, the Gambia Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs (MoFEA) and the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) executed a Financing Agreement for Phase II of the Domestic Resource Mobilization (DRM) Project.

Permanent Secretary Jallow led the ceremony, which was attended by prominent officials, including Hon. Minister Seedy KM Keita and AFD Regional Director Mihoub Mezonaghi.

Mr. Essa Jallow from the Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA) expressed his appreciation for AFD’s support of their strategic plan focused on tax modernization. Mr. Mezonaghi commended the successful outcomes of the first phase of the DRM project and reiterated AFD’s commitment to The Gambia’s Development Plan.

Minister Keita underscored the importance of broadening the tax base for self-reliance and acknowledged the achievements of the GRA, particularly emphasizing the role of digitalization.

The agreement aims to enhance Gambia’s revenue mobilization capacity and foster sustainable economic growth.
