Omar B.J. Touray, former deputy mayor of Banjul City Council (2018-2023), testified before the Local Government Commission of Inquiry about employment practices and financial oversight.

The inquiry also examined the sale of a municipal vehicle to his secretary without a public auction and financial discrepancies involving a donation for cleaning services used for council wages.

Chairperson Jainaba Bah requested additional documentation from Mr. Touray to clarify these issues and highlight efforts for transparency and accountability in local governance.
