Establishment of the Child Rights Centre at the University of The Gambia

The Minister of Gender, Children, and Social Welfare, Hon. Fatou Kinteh, emphasized the significance of establishing the Child Rights Centre at the University of The Gambia as a vital step forward in child protection and the promotion of children’s rights.

The Centre will prioritize research, advocacy, and training, collaborating with various sectors to enhance the dignity and safety of children. Minister Kinteh reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening child protection systems and acknowledged the valuable contributions of the University, UN partners, and youth.

This initiative aligns with the African Union Agenda 2063 and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, underscoring our collective responsibility toward children in The Gambia.
