Burkina Faso rejected a request from the Trump administration to accept deportees from the U.S., calling the proposal “indecent” and not aligned with its values.

This statement followed the U.S. Embassy in Burkina Faso’s suspension of most visa services for locals, a move the Foreign Minister suggested might be a pressure tactic.

Since July, the U.S. has been deporting individuals to several African countries as part of a controversial policy, leading to protests from human rights organizations.

Reports indicate the U.S. is offering financial incentives to these countries to accept the deportees.
