Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft, plans to donate nearly his entire fortune of about $107 billion by 2045, aiming to contribute around $200 billion to alleviate global poverty through his Foundation.
Despite being the 13th richest person, his announcement coincides with significant U.S. humanitarian aid funding cuts. Gates recognizes the limitations of his Foundation, emphasizing their goal of making a meaningful impact.
Established in 2000, the Foundation will close after spending 99% of its funds and aims to accelerate donations by its 25th anniversary.
