Benjamin Will Hold a Reggae Concert on January 18

Benjamin's-Homecoming-Reggae-Concert

By Adama Makasuba

Gambian seasonal reggae and dancehall artist Benjamin, whose real name is Kawsu Ceesay, is preparing to host his long-awaited homecoming reggae concert on January 18, 2025. At this event, he will unveil his new song, “Season and Time.”

Renowned for his impactful messages and captivating stage performances, Benjamin has previously released popular tracks such as “Save the Nation,” “Economic Depression,” “Sooner or Later,” and “Magic in the Gambia.”

During a recent news conference, he highlighted that the concert’s purpose is to unite communities as a gesture of gratitude towards Gambians who have supported him since he began his musical journey.

“It’s an event aimed at bringing communities together. It is neither self-serving nor commercialized. Having not returned home for quite some time, I felt compelled to organize this initiative following the completion of my second album,” he stated.

Now residing in Europe, Benjamin believes it is crucial to contribute to developing his home country through music. “I committed myself to the fact that as a musician, I wouldn’t stop at just performing; I aspire to create a platform where our brothers and sisters in the diaspora can come together with Gambians to celebrate and enjoy,” he explained.

“We all have a role to play in the country’s development, and artists must also contribute, as the government cannot do it all alone,” he added.

DJ Live Talk, a representative of the Frontline Army Musical Group, which includes Benjamin and three other international artists, assured fans of an extraordinary concert experience. “We’re excited to present you with a new package we’ve been working on, titled ‘Season and Time,'” he shared.
