
President Adama Barrow oversaw the handover of empowerment items, including 130 cargo tricycles, 130 ‘tuk-tuks,’ and 100 diesel-powered milling machines, donated by Qatar Charity through the NDMA.
This donation supports the YIRIWA agenda, which aims to improve livelihoods and economic growth, especially for youth and women’s cooperatives. NDMA Executive Director Sanna Dahaba noted the significance of this contribution for community resilience.
Qatar Charity representative Abdallah Yassin highlighted a $5 million investment in economic empowerment projects in The Gambia since 2019. The ceremony also included the Qatari Ambassador presenting school bags to orphans.
