Pope Leo XIV called for global humanitarian aid to Sudan amid the civil war and a recent landslide in Darfur that resulted in over 1,000 deaths.
He highlighted the severe hardships faced by civilians, including violence, famine, and the risk of cholera.
The Pope also urged humanitarian responses and diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict, which has led to allegations of genocide, approximately 150,000 deaths, and the displacement of 12 million people, creating a significant humanitarian crisis.
