Banjul-High-Court-ruling

The Banjul High Court, presided over by Justice Ebrima Jaiteh, dismissed the appeal of Kwadwo Ofusunhene, a former employee of the University of The Gambia (UTG), against a decision by the Kanifing Industrial Tribunal.

The tribunal had ordered a deposit of approximately D666,000 with the Sheriff of The Gambia following the termination of Mr. Ofusunhene’s employment.

He raised five points in his appeal, claiming a violation of his right to a fair hearing and disputing the tribunal’s legal basis for its decision.

The high court found no merit in his claims, affirmed the tribunal’s actions as appropriate, and ordered Mr. Ofusunhene to pay D50,000 in costs to UTG.
