Gambian Artists will Compete in the Global Street Culture Contest in Russia

Gambian artists compete at the KARDO International Street Art, Culture, and Sport Award in Russia, showcasing Dejaying, Hip-hop Dance, Graffiti, and Rap, following a national event at Africell-KMC Park to promote Gambian street culture globally.

A group of Gambian artists and performers will compete at the KARDO International Street Art, Culture, and Sport Award in Stavropol, Russia. This follows a national event that took place in June at Africell-KMC Park.

The competition includes four categories: Dejaying, Hip-hop Dance, Graffiti, and Rap. The Gambian team will join winners from over 110 countries to showcase their talents in street culture.

DJ G Faal, the ambassador of KARDO in The Gambia, highlighted the initiative’s aim to create a sustainable platform for future generations. He mentioned that the award program will be held annually in The Gambia.

He also called for support from stakeholders and the government to help the team succeed and gain recognition for Gambian arts and culture.
