Zambia signed a $1.1 billion agreement on July 21 to build a crude oil refinery and energy complex in Ndola, aiming for energy self-sufficiency.
The refinery will process 60,000 barrels of crude daily, meeting current fuel needs and potentially supplying neighboring countries.
Located in the Copperbelt province, it will reduce reliance on fuel imports and save millions of dollars annually.
The project is expected to enhance energy security, create jobs, and boost regional trade, with further details on construction and investors to be announced soon.
