The United Nations human rights office is worried about the recent discovery of many bodies in Tripoli, Libya.
An armed group controls these areas called the Stabilization Support Authority (SSA), following the death of its leader, Abdel-Ghani al-Kikli. The findings include 10 burned bodies at the SSA headquarters and 67 bodies stored in hospital refrigerators.
There are also reports of a burial site at the Tripoli Zoo. U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rightshttps://www.ohchr.org/ Volker Türk said these discoveries show grave human rights violations, including suspected torture and killings without trial.
He urged officials to secure the area to preserve evidence and called for the U.N. to be allowed access to document these violations.
