The Accused Faces Five Charges in Bundung Magistrate Court

Isatou Jeng is facing charges for misappropriating D1,195,950 from various community groups in Tallinding, Gambia, under the pretense of purchasing foodstuffs for them, and has pleaded for mercy, promising to repay the funds if given the opportunity to work, with the case adjourned until December 2nd.

In a court hearing concerning IGP vs. Isatou Jeng, presided over by Your Worship Fatty, Isatou Jeng faced charges related to the misappropriation of a total of D1,195,950 from various community groups in Tallinding, Gambia.

Your Worship Fatty presented the particulars of the allegations against Ms. Jeng, outlining how she received significant cash sums from multiple individuals under the guise of purchasing foodstuffs for their respective groups. Instead, she allegedly misused the funds for her personal expenses.

The charges included D400 from Musa Badjie Kafo, D100 from Koloban Nodema Kafo, D250 from Reekley Sister Kafo, D100 from Tallinding Sikap Adama, and D71,100 from Haddy Seneghore Kafo. The Inspector General of Police emphasized the importance of returning the misappropriated funds to the affected groups, highlighting the considerable impact of the accused’s actions on the community.

During the proceedings, the accused pleaded for mercy, citing her responsibilities as a mother and promising to repay the amounts if the court granted her the opportunity to work.

The case has been adjourned until December 2nd.
