Armed groups in northern Mozambique have displaced tens of thousands of people, worsening the humanitarian crisis in Cabo Delgado.
In July, attacks forced at least 46,667 people to flee, bringing the total displaced since January to over 95,000.
The UN reports a growing number of unaccompanied children among those displaced, with 444 households affected, including more than 1,200 children.
Violence has escalated, with attacks in Muidumbe resulting in homes being burned and families fleeing to areas with limited aid. Since 2017, Mozambique has been battling an Islamist insurgency, with government forces struggling against the violence despite assistance from regional partners.
The ongoing violence has resulted in over 600,000 people being forced to flee, impacting surrounding provinces as well.
