Tehran Residents Express Concern over the Reimposed UN Sanctions on Iran

Residents of Tehran are concerned about the potential reintroduction of UN sanctions and the decline of the local currency following the breakdown of nuclear talks.

The “snapback” mechanism initiated by Britain, Germany, and France has reinstated sanctions from 2015, which the Iranian government considers unjustifiable.

Locals fear worsening economic conditions amidst ongoing U.S. sanctions. Additionally, UN inspectors have been denied access to key nuclear facilities, raising concerns about Iran’s enriched uranium status. Iranian officials assert that current U.S. sanctions are even stricter than those recently reinstated.
