Madi and Others Petitioned the National Assembly Regarding the State Land Allocation
Human rights activists Madi Jobarteh, Baboucarr Nyang, and Omar Camara have filed a petition with the National Assembly seeking an inquiry into the allocation of state lands between 2017 and 2023, emphasizing the need for transparency, accountability, and adherence to the rule of law in public resource management.
Unfair Recommendation on NAWEC Staff
In 2023, the government signed performance contracts with seven SOEs and established an SOE Commission, which in 2024 reported NAWEC’s failure to meet performance targets, unfairly recommending salary deductions for all staff rather than holding top management accountable for the underperformance, highlighting a need for transparency and equitable responsibility distribution.
