Nigeria defeated Rwanda 1-0 in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.

Toluwalase Arokodare scored the winning goal in the 51st minute. Following this victory, Nigeria is third in Group C, six points behind the leaders, South Africa, while Rwanda is in fourth place.

Victor Osimhen was injured during the match, raising concerns for Nigeria’s upcoming game against South Africa on September 9. Rwanda will face Zimbabwe on the same day.
