Seven senior GPF officers have completed the ECOWAS staff officers’ course in Banjul

Seven Senior Officers from the Gambia Police Force completed the ECOWAS Staff Officers Course from November 25 to 28, 2025, at the Bakadaji Hotel in Kotu.

Organized by ECOWAS and the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre, the course focused on enhancing knowledge of ECOWAS Peace Support Operations. Fifty participants from The Gambia, Nigeria, Senegal, and Ghana attended, covering topics like conflict drivers and mission planning.

The closing ceremony featured remarks from H.E. Miatta Lily French and Colonel Ndiagne Diouf, who emphasized the importance of building capacity within security institutions for regional peace. This training is part of the GPF’s capacity-building efforts.
