The Russian military plans to take control of half of Ukraine by 2026. They are focusing on key areas in central, southern, and eastern Ukraine.

Their main goals include capturing the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as Odesa and Mykolaiv. This would increase Russian control to about 336,300 square kilometers.

Their strategy is phased, aiming first at territory east of the Dnipro River, particularly in Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk. They want to secure the rest of Donetsk and Luhansk by September 1, 2025.

Additionally, Russia plans to regain control of Kherson City and establish a buffer zone to the north by the end of 2025.
