Hon. Fatou Kinteh, Minister of Gender, Wins the Women’s Impact Award

Hon. Fatou Kinteh, Gambia’s Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Welfare, was awarded the African Union Women’s Impact Award at the 2025 Global Excellence Summit in Lagos for her work in advancing women’s rights and sustainable development across Africa.

Hon. Fatou Kinteh, Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Welfare, received the African Union Women’s Impact Award at the Global Excellence Summit and AU Agenda 2063 Women’s Impact Awards 2025 in Lagos, Nigeria, on May 23-24.

She was honored for her work in promoting women’s rights and empowerment in The Gambia and across Africa. This award recognizes her efforts in gender inclusion and sustainable development.

Gambia’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, His Excellency Mohamadou Musa (Papa) Njie, accepted the award on her behalf.
