On September 8, in Uvira, eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, hundreds protested the appointment of General Olivier Gasita Mukunda as deputy commander of the 33rd military region on September 8, accusing him of collaborating with M23 rebels during their February takeover of Bukavu.
