Police ramp up efforts to combat irregular migration in NBR

The Gambia Police Force has ramped up operations in the North Bank Region to address irregular migration, especially along the Barra–Ginack route.

Recent patrols uncovered groups of young individuals preparing to cross in local boats, prompting a coordinated effort by various police units in the area. Officers will conduct targeted screenings, confiscate motorbikes used for unlawful crossings, and uphold a rigorous zero-tolerance policy.

This initiative is designed to disrupt human smuggling networks and dissuade dangerous migration paths. The police are urging community members to report any suspicious activity.
