Police Investigate the Theft of Laptops and D351,000 from the National Audit Office

The Gambia Police Force is probing a theft at the National Audit Office, involving D351,000 and laptops, with suspect Modou Mustapha Jallow confessing to selling the items in Serrekunda’s black market, as efforts continue to recover the stolen goods and ensure justice.

The Gambia Police Force is investigating the theft of D351,000 and laptops from the National Audit Office’s ICT Support Unit.

Surveillance footage identified two unidentified individuals entering and leaving the building with the stolen items.

Crime Scene Investigators found no fingerprints due to contamination. Several arrests have been made, including Modou Mustapha Jallow, who confessed to the burglary and selling the laptops in the Serrekunda black market.

Authorities are working to identify the receiver of the stolen items and recover them, assuring the public of their efforts to bring those responsible to justice.
