Law enforcement has resumed efforts to clear roadsides in Greater Banjul, aiming to remove unauthorized structures.

This operation has been criticized by affected individuals, opposition groups, and advocates for rights. Commissioner Lamin King Colley, head of the traffic police, has emphasized the enforcement of laws and warned that individuals found reoccupying cleared areas will face legal consequences.

The commissioner said that the operation would be ongoing and that anyone found in the cleared areas would be brought before the court. Colley stressed the importance of upholding the rule of law in the country.
