Jennifer Echegini scored the winning goal for Nigeria in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, leading the Super Falcons to a 3-2 victory over Morocco on July 26.

The match saw Nigeria come back from a 2-0 halftime deficit, thanks to goals from Esther Okoronkwo and a strong team effort. Echegini expressed that this victory, her first trophy, will be a significant moment in her career.

Nigeria has now won the tournament 10 times, with President Bola Tinubu praising the team’s determination and resilience.

Morocco, which lost their second Wafcon final, looks to regroup under coach Jorge Vilda, who aims to lead them to a future victory.
