The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science, and Technology (MoHERST) has partnered with the Commonwealth of Learning to validate a National Gender Inclusion Policy for Tertiary and Higher Education.
The policy aims to increase women’s enrollment and representation in academia and leadership roles, combating systemic discrimination. Key provisions include promoting gender-sensitive institutions, enhancing access to education, supporting women’s participation in STEM fields, and addressing gender-based violence.
Ambassador Jainaba Jagne emphasized the importance of education for empowerment and inclusive development, with the overall goal of promoting gender equity and supporting sustainable economic growth.
