On May 16, 2025, the Honourable Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, Professor Pierre Gomez, presented MoHERST Scholarship Letters of Commitment to ten graduates from the University of The Gambia (UTG) in recognition of their academic achievements.
These scholarships exemplify the Gambian government’s dedication to enhancing access to higher education and supporting the aspirations of its youth.
During the ceremony, Professor Gomez emphasized the significance of education as a catalyst for societal change and urged the graduates to embrace their future roles as leaders. He commended UTG for its contributions to national development and encouraged the graduates to confront future challenges with integrity.
The Permanent Secretary, Ambassador Jainaba Jagne, congratulated the awardees and reiterated the government’s commitment to promoting higher education.
Foday M. Sillah, the top graduate, expressed his gratitude for the support, acknowledging the scholarships as vital to their educational journeys and the nation’s development goals.
