President Donald Trump held a military parade on his 79th birthday, June 14. The parade featured tanks, troops, and a 21-gun salute, even as protests occurred across the country, with some calling him a dictator.

Trump had wanted to host this parade since his first term after seeing a similar event in Paris in 2017.

The parade celebrated the Army’s 250th anniversary and took place in Washington, D.C. Meanwhile, Trump’s anti-immigration policies were being implemented in cities like Los Angeles.

The event ended with fireworks, enjoyed by Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
