Former Ivorian President Laurent Gbagbo will not support any candidates in the upcoming presidential election due to concerns about their legitimacy and lack of representation.

His ex-wife, Simone Gbagbo, is among the candidates, while Gbagbo opposes President Alassane Ouattara’s bid for a fourth term, claiming it violates constitutional limits.

Legal barriers prevent Gbagbo and opposition leader Tidjane Thiam from participating in the election. Gbagbo has called for peaceful protests against Ouattara, despite government warnings of legal repercussions for challenging the Council’s decisions.
