Voting has ended in the Ivory Coast presidential election, with President Alassane Ouattara seeking a fourth term. Voter turnout was low, partly because the disqualification of the primary challengers had previously sparked protests.

While five candidates participated, many expect Ouattara to remain in power. Despite some economic progress, a significant portion of the population lives in poverty, and youth unemployment is high.

Analysts predict a lack of voter engagement due to widespread disillusionment with the electoral process, with results expected the next day.
