GNPC Clerk Charged with Stealing Over D1 Million Pleads not Guilty

Ousman Jammeh, a GNPC employee, changed his plea to not guilty after admitting to stealing over D1.1 million, was granted bail, and awaits trial on August 25, 2025, for theft charges in Gambia.

Ousman Jammeh, an employee at the Gambia National Petroleum Company Limited (GNPC), initially admitted to stealing more than D1.1 million from his workplace during a court session on August 18, 2025.

However, he later changed his plea to not guilty on August 20, 2025, claiming he is innocent of the allegations.

Magistrate Isatou Jallow accepted his change of plea and released him on bail.

He is charged with stealing as a clerk or servant, with the purported theft occurring on December 19, 2024. The trial is scheduled to commence on August 25, 2025.
